Rule of thumb: if break-even needs more appointments than you filled at your last trunk show, fix the appointment pipeline before booking the designer. One honest caveat: the model counts every sale as one you wouldn’t have made otherwise — if some attendees would have bought from your regular racks anyway, the incentive discount on those gowns is a real cost the profit figure doesn’t show.
